SureCount SDS - How It Works:

1. Typically, the top 100 drugs account for approximately 70-80% of total daily prescription volume. SureCount SDS is interfaced with an automated "fast movers" stock delivery console. A stock delivery cabinet capable of storing and delivering up to 4800 other drug SKUs can also be integrated with the system.

2. Utilizing bar code scanning technology, the stock delivery system can be controlled electronically with your pharmacy computer system or, enter data manually through a convenient keypad. When interfaced with the SureCount unit, a bar code scanner reads an NDC number which has been printed on the prescription label. This activity performs two functions: a) it sets SureCount to count the specific drug called for in the prescription, and, b) it signals the stock delivery console to advance the bulk stock bottle to the dispensing pharmacist or technician.

When interfaced directly to your pharmacy computer, the computer sends a signal to the stock delivery console to advance the bulk stock bottle. Since prescriptions are not always filled in real time these signals can be stored in a queue for downloading when the dispensing personnel are ready.

3. The dispensing pharmacist or technician retrieves the correct stock bottle, fills the prescription, then replaces the stock bottle in its proper location within the console.

Note:
This entire activity takes only 3-5 seconds and requires little or no time spent in motion by pharmacy personnel. Additional confirmation of your having selected the correct drug stock bottle is provided by an indicator light which illuminates directly below the correct bottle in the SDS.
